Friday photo – Tomato bugs

A green tomato hangs in the centre, with out-of-focuse tomato plant foliage and stems around it. Two round black bugs with white and orange spots and long noses sit on a crease of the tomato. A third bug is crawling on the underside.

J: “Why are they called tomato bugs? …other than that they’re on a tomato, that is.”
Me: “Nope, that’s pretty much it.”
These are on one of the volunteer (weed) tomatoes that just decided it wanted to grow by the olive tree.
