Friday photo – Wirewood seeds

Grey-green long slender leaves hang down, some backlit light green by afternoon sun. Light brown dry curly seed pods tangle and dangle, each with a couple of black and orange seeds inside.

Those curly wirewood seed pods have finally dried and split open – and they’re filled with big black seeds holding on by orange arils. The arils are a source of oils and the seeds are high protein, but I need to check their total nutritional value.
